Familiar

≫ Familiar is the product of a Capstone project, a conceptual game pitch for a story-based game. The project includes artwork of 7 characters, 5 fake screenshots, as well as a detailed game pitch in PDF format of how the game would work.

≫ In this game's world, there are Familiars, creatures of mystical origin with powers that bond with humans for as long as history was written. Civilization has been built around them in Families, or groups of people who have the same Familiar. It was rumored that they were immortal beings, but after a fateful encounter, the player learns that their Familiar is Death itself. As it turns out, Familiars are supposed to reincarnate after dying, but after Death was sealed away this has stopped happening. Thus, civilization has grown off balance, and a strict societal system has been created with Greater Familiars living much better off than Lesser Familiars. Now with a new companion, the player must find the Greater Familiars that have lived for too long and ensure that they reincarnate properly, bringing balance to the world.
